North American QSO Party, CW - August 2017

Was Arnie's, KN4DEB, second ever contest. Very new ham.
The late hours really killed me. Got bed after 2 AM and back up at 6 AM!

NAQP RTTY de NR4M (2017)

Started a bit late due to a total crapout of my Flex radio. Then, had to shut down because of lightning and hail! After some time off, I got back on later and worked some on 80.

North American QSO Party, (CW - January 2017)

Trying to get the hang of SO2R, but wasn't in the cards. Just before the contest my Flex 6700 decided to turn itself into a 'brick'.
Still not a lot of antenna choices here for domestic contests. 20 meters is the worst, with the lowest antenna I can turn west is at 120 feet. The lower in frequency I go, the more appropriate the antenna choices.

Need L-O-W-E-R antennas on the high bands.

Took one for 'The Gipper' I did not enjoy this. I started late, so I quit early (sounds fair...)

North American QSO Party, CW - August (2010)

Once again, a great contest. Condx seemed to be quite good all bands and qrn wasn't bad on the low bands here in VA. Everything seemed to click. The Goat himself (NR4M) boiled peanuts for our enjoyment! (Don't knock it if you haven't tried!)

This sure was a change!  Never have it done any QRP contesting. I thought about doing this contest, but really couldn't figure out why I should.  Then, as  'hoot' I decided to do it QRP.  I figured 5 watts would make it at least 'memorable'. As it turned out, I kinda enjoyed it and was surprised that it wasn't as painful as I had imagined.

Antennas way too high made this a frustrating contest for me. You can't work
'em, if you can't hear 'em. Much easier to work the DX that called me than it
was to work stateside stations.
