Glad that is behind me.
Meteor pings were a bit disconcerting, but are part of the sport. It's amazing
the +/- 50 db, or more, in just an instant!
Was encouraged by the short EU opening on Saturday, only to see it almost non
existent on Sunday.

Was working on/off thru these miserable condx. Had to remove several contacts as the station just 'went away' which trying to finish the QSO.
When I wasn't operating, I was doing some painting in the shack, as it was more fun to watch the paint dry, than it was operating.

Trying new stuff out. In the past, I've never had an antenna lower than 120 feet that I could turn and use in domestic contest. That was really miserable. Day before the contest, a friend gave me a 5 ele 10 meter yagi that K7SV and I got up the day of the contest.

Operated when I could, on/off over the weekend. Mostly running, with very little S&P. My antennas are better suited for DX than close in stuff. I did wind up learning where I can, and can not, work using the higher angle back lobes of my antennas. Was consistently working the upper mid-west off the back of my SA stack at 35/70 feet pointing @155. Was much better than my lowest rotatable antenna @120 feet.

None of the 3 ops had any real quantity of time to spend with this contest. Used it to try and get a feel for how the new antennas played. So far, so good. Finished rebuilding RF section of a 25 yr old amp Sat AM, so decided that we would test it out in the contest. It proved to be a good 'all or nothing' shake down of the amp.
